We had an amazing time at MakeIT 2025, where our colleague Aleš shared his expertise on elevating Oracle APEX to new heights.

Aleš Kravos delivered an insightful session titled Bringing Your APEX Apps Back in Shape. He focused on enhancing maintainability, security, and design consistency in Oracle APEX applications through structured analysis and the smart use of tools.

The APEX Alpe Adria 2025 conference, held at the Sheraton Hotel in Zagreb, was a remarkable gathering of the Oracle APEX community. A huge thank you to all the speakers, attendees, partners, and the Oracle APEX team for making this event truly unforgettable. Your knowledge, passion, and energy showcased the strength of the APEX community in the Alpe-Adria region and beyond.


From high-quality presentations to engaging discussions, the event highlighted the innovation and collaboration that define our global community. Oracle APEX and Generative AI – The Future of Application Development

In collaboration with Oracle Slovenia, we co-organized the event Oracle APEX and Generative AI - The Future of Application Development, where we discussed the impact of artificial intelligence on application development and explored concrete use cases in Oracle APEX.

The event began with an opening speech by Matevž Kadak (Oracle), who provided context and emphasized the importance of integrating generative AI with application development.

The presentations that followed covered key topics:

🕥 Speech and Language Technologies - Where We Stand with Slovenian

Prof. Dr. Marko Bajec (UL FRI) presented the development and current state of speech and language AI in Slovenian, as well as the challenges faced in this field.

🕙 Getting Started with GenDev in APEX

Mónica Godoy (Oracle APEX Product Manager) joined via Zoom to demonstrate the first steps in using generative AI in the APEX development environment.

🕚 Building a RAG Application: APEX and Vector Databases

Aljaž Mali & Andrej Grlica (The RIGHT THING Solutions) showcased how developers can implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) in APEX applications and explained how vector search works in combination with AI.

🕛 Oracle Generative AI Services: Using Custom LLM Models

Robert Korošec (Oracle Slovenia) presented the possibilities of using custom language models within Oracle Generative AI Services.

Book launch event for Low Code Programming with APEX: How to and Practical Cases

We participated in the book launch event for Low Code Programming with APEX: How to and Practical Cases, organized under the BeeAPEX initiative.


The book provides a well-structured and comprehensive guide, covering all the essential topics that students or those new to APEX, such as junior developers, need to quickly get up to speed with APEX development. By combining academic knowledge with practical examples, it serves as an invaluable resource for both business professionals and educators.
A big thank you to the editors, Robert Leskovar and Alenka Baggia, for their incredible efforts in putting this comprehensive guide together.

Thank you also to Oracle Academy Program Manager Darko Jurekovic and the local Oracle team for their support and for organizing such a well-executed event.

 

Successful Participation at the 2nd Conference of the Green Slovenian Spatial Framework (SLO4D)

We were delighted to participate in the 2nd conference of the Green Slovenian Spatial Framework (SLO4D), held on November 20, 2024, at the Congress Center. The event offered a remarkable blend of outstanding lectures, in-depth discussions, and excellent networking opportunities with professionals from various fields.

Our company is proud to contribute to the LIFE NarcIS project by actively participating in the development of the innovative Nature Conservation Information System (NarcIS). This advanced platform will integrate data from multiple sources, providing easier, faster, and clearer access to vital nature conservation information, thus significantly enhancing efforts to protect our environment.


A heartfelt thank you to the organizers and all participants for an unforgettable experience and the chance to exchange knowledge and ideas. We eagerly look forward to the next steps in creating sustainable and innovative solutions!

 

APEX in Public Administration

On 11 October 2024, the Environment Agency launched NarcIS. The event was a great success with 52 participants from 22 organisations, with a lively discussion in which participants exchanged different views. The role of Oracle APEX as a tool that enables a wider group of developers to develop secure and modern applications faster than traditional development methods was particularly highlighted.
